Military College Students at our Richfield School

At Globe University/Minnesota School of Business (GU/MSB)–Richfield, we acknowledge the service and sacrifice of our military and offer programs and services just for them. Our Military Student Services staff are themselves retired US military who understand the concerns of our military students.

If you need to investigate veterans’ benefits or want to discuss one of our degree programs, contact our Military Student Services department. Call them at 866-342-3505 for answers to questions about our programs for members and veterans of the armed forces and their family members.

Military Student Services staff

Our Military Student Service department is headed by retired NCOs who know the answers to your questions. Both former U.S. Army first sergeants with 21 years of active duty service, Mike Hughes and Mike Blumberg are available to discuss your programs and act as your advocate as you pursue your educational goals. They will make sure that you get all your military benefits and ensure that you receive full college credit for any eligible military training.

Financial aid just for military personnel and family members

Our commitment to help military students includes providing financial aid programs just for active duty military, veterans and their families. Our scholarship programs include the following:

Military Advantage Scholarship.

  • For eligible military personnel and their dependants. The scholarship awards 10% of the cost of tuition and books and supplements any military education benefits and other grants and loans the student receives

Military Service Scholarship.

  • For eligible military personnel who were severely injured during service in Iraq and Afghanistan and for their families

Purple Heart Scholarship.

  • For service members and veterans who were wounded in the Gulf Wars and for spouses and dependents of those killed in these conflicts

Other qualification requirements apply, so contact our Military Student Services staff for more information about the application process and the military documentation required. We will also advise you about your eligibility for state and federal benefits.

How do I start my college program?

The easiest way to get started is to contact the Military Student Services department. Staff members can advise you about programs, benefits for active duty military, veterans and their families, and talk with you about obtaining college credit for military training.  They can also steer you toward other resources to help you or your family make the transition to civilian life.

Where will I attend classes?

The Richfield campus of GU/MSB has degree and diploma programs in fields such as nursing, digital video, interactive media, music business, medical assisting and business administration. These programs ― like all our college programs ― prepare students for a variety of rewarding careers. And you can take online classes, too; active duty military often find that online classes are the best option.

What happens once I enroll?

Our assistance doesn’t stop once you choose a program and begin classes. We visit campuses each month for “Ask a Veteran” sessions. We provide a Veterans Student Resource Board that displays pamphlets describing resources available to veterans. And we are always available to answer any question.
