High School Advantage program
We offer high school students the opportunity to jump-start their college educations with our High School Advantage program. This allows high school seniors who enroll in bachelor’s or associate degree programs at GU/MSB-Richfield the chance to take up to four courses – one per quarter ― free of charge before they start full-time studies. There are some eligibility requirements for this program, so contact a representative to learn more.
College is an important investment
We know that college is expensive. We also know that it is an investment that is well worth the time and money. College graduates earn more money than do high school graduates. The College Board, in Education Pays: The Benefits of Higher Education for Individuals and Society (2007), reported that people with bachelor’s degrees earn over 60 percent more than those with high school diplomas. The report estimated that people with associate degrees earn 28% more than high school graduates over the course of their lifetimes. People with bachelor’s degrees earn 61% more than people with high school diplomas.
Scholarships for high school graduates
GU/MSB-Richfield has two high school scholarship programs for eligible students. For more details, contact our campus or review the information below.
- President’s Scholarship. An eligible student who applies for admission to Globe University/Minnesota School of Business by January 1 of the student’s senior year will receive a $2000 scholarship; a student who applies for admission by April 1 of the senior year will receive a $1000 scholarship.
- Director’s Academic Scholarship. This program provides tuition assistance to graduating high-school seniors who show academic excellence as measured by performance on the Career Profile Assessment test (CPAt). Depending on his or her score, a student can receive up to $5000 toward tuition at GU/MSB.
