The students and faculty at Globe University/Minnesota School of Business (GU/MSB) represent many ages, ethnicities and levels of preparation. We have students who are recent high school graduates. We have instructors who have retired from their industries and teach full time. Our students, teachers and staff, although diverse, are united in their commitment to student success.

Adult learners
Many of our students are people who graduated from high school years ago. They come to the Richfield campus of GU/MSB for many reasons. Some may have started college but dropped out because they were not in the right program or didn’t receive the support they needed to be successful. Others may have never been to college, but are starting degree programs because they would like to enter professions that require academic credentials or are positioning themselves for promotion. Returning adults like these add a great deal to our classrooms. They have experience in the world of work and can draw upon this to enhance their understanding of the material they study at GU/MSB-Richfield.
Recent high school graduates
Students who are recent high school graduates ― and even those who have not yet graduated from high school ― are a significant portion of our student body. Many recent grads report that the support and encouragement they receive at GU/MSB-Richfield are very important to their success in college. Our small class sizes and the dedication of the instructors are often cited as factors that contribute to positive outcomes for recent high school graduates who enroll in our college.
GU/MSB-Richfield has special programs and scholarships for recent graduates. These include the High School Advantage program that allows qualifying high school seniors who enroll in our college to take up to four courses – one per quarter – tuition-free.
Military students
We honor the service and sacrifice of members of our armed forces. Accordingly, we provide scholarship programs and special services that help them accomplish their educational goals during and after their service. We have a Military Student Services department staffed by retired U.S. Army staff sergeants who know the concerns of our military students and who help them with benefits, academic programs and credit transfers.
Experienced faculty
Our Richfield instructors are experienced professionals in their fields. Some are attorneys, others are computer programmers. Some are members of the Minnesota State Patrol or Minneapolis Police Department, while others are nurses with advanced degrees. Whatever their backgrounds, they are also experienced teachers ― many of them have been teaching at GU/MSB-Richfield since it opened in the 1980s. They understand the needs and circumstances of our students ― whatever the problem, our instructors have probably encountered it before.
