Accounting programs at GU/MSB-Richfield
We offer several accountant programs; a student is able to choose the one that best fits his or her situation.
Bachelor of Science in Accounting (BS). This bachelor’s degree program qualifies graduates to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam in Minnesota. GU/MSB offers coursework in financial accounting, auditing, taxation, and management accounting along with advanced business coursework that allows students to become key members of financial teams in any organization.
Accounting & Tax Specialist Associates Degree (AAS). This degree program prepares students for positions as tax advisors, tax preparers or for jobs in the accounting departments of businesses and corporations. Graduates of this program are prepared to take exams for certifications such as the Accredited Business Accountant/Advisor (ABA), Registered Accounting Practitioner (RAP) and Enrolled Agent (EA).
Associate Degree in Management Accounting (AAS). This program prepares students for positions such as accounts payable or accounts receivable clerks, payroll specialists, accounting technicians and billing specialists. This associate degree in accounting often leads the student toward a bachelors degree in accounting. In addition, many students return to college to qualify for CPA certification.
Accounting Diploma. An accounting diploma program prepares students for jobs as accounts payable or accounts receivable clerks. Students frequently return to school to earn AAS or BS degrees after working in the accounting field.
Accounting online
Our accounting degree programs are also available through our online division. Many students find that online college is the only way they are able to earn the degrees that will help them succeed in their careers. They can save money on gas and childcare and reduce the amount of time they spend commuting. They can study anywhere they have Internet access, making an online degree an excellent alternative for students with complicated lives.
