Our scholarship programs for military students

Military Service Scholarship. This scholarship is for military personnel who sustained severe injuries during service in Iraq or Afghanistan and for their families. The Department of Defense established the Severely Injured Joint Operations Center to help wounded vets returning from military service in Iraq and Afghanistan with care, recuperation and benefits. We offer the Military Service Scholarship to participants in this federal program.

The award amounts for the Military Service Scholarship are as follows:

  • $5000 to eligible students enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program
  • $2500 to eligible students enrolled in an associate degree program
  • $1000 to eligible students enrolled in a diploma program

Contact our Military Student Services department for more information.

Military Advantage Scholarship.  We offer this scholarship program to supplement military education benefits and other grants and loans. The scholarship provides eligible students with up to 10% of quarterly tuition and books. Students in the following categories are eligible for the Military Advantage Scholarship each quarter:

  • Active duty
  • Active Reserves/National Guard
  • Veterans Honorably Discharged
  • Spouse/Dependents of the above

Contact our Military Student Services department to learn more.

Purple Heart Scholarship. In recognition of the sacrifices of our service members and veterans, we offer the Purple Heart Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to students wounded in the Gulf Wars, including Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Spouses and dependents of those killed in action are also eligible. Students approved for this scholarship will receive an award that covers all remaining tuition and fees once other benefits and financial aid have been deducted.

Contact our Military Student Services department to find out if you qualify.

Military Active Duty Scholarship. This program is for qualified students who are active duty service members and their families. Recipients of this scholarship will receive an amount equal to the difference between the current tuition per credit charge and $250. Restrictions apply, so consult our military student services staff to learn more.
