General admissions standards
General college requirements for admission to GU/MSB include one of the following:
- A minimum score on the Accuplacer test of 35 in reading comprehension, 35 in sentence skills and 21 in arithmetic
Or
- Documentation of a bachelor’s degree granted by an approved institution
Or
- Documentation of a minimum composite score of 21 on the ACT or 1485 on the SAT (test date after March 2006)
Or
- CPAt exam scores that meet the requirements listed in the catalog at the time of past enrollment if a student took this test through GU/MSB
Depending on your scores on the Accuplacer test, you may be required to take Foundations of Mathematics 1 or II and Fundamentals of Writing I or II.
Program specific requirements
Some programs have specific admissions requirements in addition to the general admissions requirements listed above. These programs include the following:
- Nursing BS degree program Students must be nursing assistants who can supply documentation of nursing assistant competency.
- Cosmetology Business AAS degree program Students must hold current cosmetology licenses.
- Transportation Business AAS degree program A student must have a current CDL, Class A+ license or heavy equipment operator’s certificate.
- Media Business A student must have an associate degree in a media-related discipline such as audio production, video production, media business or communications.
- Medical Assistant A student in a Medical Assistant externship must start the series of Hepatitis B vaccinations or sign a waiver declining the injections.
