The Richfield campus of Globe University/ Minnesota School of Business (GU/MSB) has a long history of educating students for great careers. Both colleges were established in the 19th century -- Minnesota School of Business in 1877 in Minneapolis and Globe University in 1885 in St. Paul. Even though we have grown and expanded over the years, we remain committed to our original mission; career education is all we do.

Experienced faculty
Our campus has been in its current location since 1993. Many of our Richfield instructors have been teaching here since that time. Like all GU/MSB teachers, they are experienced practitioners in their fields. Whether faculty members are teaching law, design or nursing, they are dedicated to our students’ success in school and in their careers. Because of their personal industry experience, teachers are great resources for students who are beginning their job searches.
Diverse students
Although our commitment to students remains the same, much else has changed. In the 19th century, many students at Minnesota School of Business were from the farming communities that surrounded the Twin Cities. Today, our Richfield students come from across the Midwest and beyond. Many work and are seeking college degrees to advance in their professions. Others are immigrants who hope to obtain the training they need to tap into the American Dream. Still others are veterans and their family members who are working to integrate themselves into the civilian workforce. Others are recent high school grads who want to earn credentials that will launch them on great careers.
Innovative programs, then and now
In the early days, our school was one of the first to offer training on stenotype machines. Now we provide students with college degree programs in digital video and media production, music business and interactive media and graphic design. We offer a variety of health science programs, including a nursing program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Today, we’re more than a business college ― we're a career college.
Putting students first
In the 19th century, the college instructed students from the country about the dangers of big city life. Today we offer the same level of concern and support tailored to the needs of today’s students. The Student Services Coordinator helps students identify appropriate housing options. Our Career Services department prepares students for that all-important first job search. Our Writing Center helps students with projects and papers. Our Richfield library has a wide range of print and on-online resources and gives students the help they need to become good researchers. Staff members and teachers are here to foster student success.
