Facilities at our College Campus

The Richfield campus of Globe University/Minnesota School of Business (GU/MSB) is located in a five story building convenient to major highways and Minneapolis-based public transportation. It is fully accessible and offers students and faculty a comfortable and well-equipped place to work, study and learn. The building was constructed in the 1980s and is currently the oldest and largest campus in GU/MSB.

The college is well equipped, with labs, a library and student commons areas for studying and relaxing. Review the information below for more detail, or schedule a visit to our Richfield campus to see for yourself. Call us at 800-752-4223.

Computer and medical labs

Our campus facilities include nursing labs, a chemistry lab, computer labs with Macs and PCs, and a patient care lab for students in our medical assistant programs. Nursing students are able to learn patient care skills in realistic settings by working with simulation mannequins. Equipment also includes an X-Ray machine that all medical assistant students work with during their programs. Our creative production students have access to a Mac-based computer lab that allows them to hone their skills. We also have equipment for students in our gaming and program development degree program. And IT students use the large PC lab for assignments and projects.

Library

Our library is stocked with books and periodicals that support the curriculum. We also have an extensive online library with many electronic resources ― books, journals, reference works and databases. Our librarians are available many hours each week to help you use these materials. We also have online tutorials that can get you started.

Writing lab

Students can visit the writing lab for help with assignments, projects and papers. We are open 11 hours each day, Monday – Thursday. The Richfield campus was the first to have a writing lab, and other campuses in the Globe Education Network look to us as leaders in this area. Each member of our writing lab staff has a Master of Fine Arts degree; some of them also teach general education courses.

We offer assistance in areas such as the following:

  • Brainstorming for paper topics
  • Organizing papers
  • Answering questions about sentence structure
  • Proofreading

Students work with our Writing Center staff to learn to accomplish tasks such as these by themselves. Our staff also organizes an annual writing contest and supports a creative writing group. We even have a weekly Scrabble club! This free resource, which strengthens vocabulary and analytical skills,  is used by students from every program area and every degree program.

Cafeteria and commons

Our cafeteria, Delectable Deli, is a place for students, faculty and staff to grab a snack, or sit down for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have an extensive menu and a pleasant eating area. Students also gather in the commons area on the fifth floor to study, work on joint projects or just relax.
